“What is beyond the darkness? Some say chaos and a darker night. I say sunrise.” —Talbot Mundy I’ve started to spend more evenings looking up at the sky, feeling the embrace of the darkness, observing the cycles of the moon, and sensitizing myself to my changing moods in the process. I want to be more engaged with nature to ask questions and acknowledge the answers I receive but I feel myself wary of collapsing into more uncertainty. And maybe that is how it should be—an allowing and surrender—to what has always been. We shouldn’t know what is coming next. We would only mess it up as it seems unconscious human beings have done for millenia.
